Faux Selfies Artist Statement

The story of Alice in Wonderland has no doubt been depicted a million times in various unique contexts. The idea of a parallel universe fascinates the human mind- young and old, alike. However, my take of that fairy tale is a little bit darker than probably intended by the creators. When I think of Alice and her wonderland, I see two reflections of myself trapped in the body of one. One reflection lives the average ordinary life of a young adult in this time and age. Yet, the other lives a special life, one with a sense of curiosity so strong it leads to a world of imagination. Nonetheless, these are only mere reflections of myself that I see. As for who am I truly, I am neither here nor there.

My work aspires to question it’s critics: “Who are you?” in a generation where many will have no answer.
